I wanted a hotel where I could keep up with my workouts while on vacation, and this place actually had better gym equipment than I expected. The strength machines and free weights were enough for my routine. After training I'd cool off in the big shallow pool, which was never overcrowded. The hotel isn't luxury by any means, but it was well looked after and gave me exactly what I needed

I bring 240 people to Barbados every year for a bridge tournament. Half of the group stays at Sunbay and half across the street at another hotel. I do a survey every year. In February 2026, the survey was the best ever. The management and owners of the hotel, Mr. Felix Broome and Mrs. Gwen Broome and son, Adam Broome, are very responsive and very caring. the bedrooms are large and comfortable. The grounds are LOVELY. The pool is gorgeous. The staff...I can tell you that I have never heard such good reviews about staff in any hotel in the world. The guests LOVE all the staff at Sunbay. They try so hard and bend over backwards. The price is reasonable. Don't expect Four Seasons but do expect comfortable with great staff who care very much that you enjoy your stay. If something is not to your liking, just speak up quietly and they will get it fixed. A great team!

This hotel deserves 0 stars. The furniture is old, which in itself is not necessarily a problem. However, everything feels neglected and extremely dirty. The overall lack of cleanliness is shocking. I even experienced allergic reactions due to dust and what I strongly suspect were dust mites in the room. This made my stay very uncomfortable and concerning for my health. The staff, with the exception of one tall young woman working in the restaurant who was kind, were extremely rude and unwelcoming. They spoke to guests in a disrespectful manner, as if they were not being paid to provide hospitality. It felt like customers were an inconvenience rather than guests. Breakfast was also disappointing. You are only allowed one omelette, asking for a second one is not permitted. Additionally, certain basic items like yogurt come with an extra charge, which feels unreasonable considering the overall quality of the hotel. Overall, this was a very unpleasant experience and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Arriving here for a one night stay before leaving for St lucia. We were immediately attacked at the reception say we should have been here yesterday. Our room was disgusting. Drawers were hanging off their hinges, the fridge didn't work...it was filthy anyway you wouldn't want to put anything in it. We asked for a small glass of milk to male some tea after our long flight. We were told there was no milk. Staff were rude and unhelpful. The pool area was lovely. Sadly the rest of the place was dated. Take my advise ...book somewhere else

The hotel looks nice in the pictures online, and even looks ok when you walk through the lobby to the pool, but the rooms are a different story. Peeling paint, leaky ceilings with water stains everywhere, no blankets or spreads on the beds, minimal toiletries, and very poor water pressure. No coffee/tea in the rooms, housekeeping only every other day and they don’t always leave enough clean towels, and the front desk staff will not do anything about any housekeeping issues when housekeeping is not on site, which is before 5pm and not until after 8:30 AM. About 25% of the front desk staff were friendly and helpful, the rest would rather stare at their phones or laptops than help you. The breakfast staff were fine, but the food was below average and repetitive with minimal variety. Parking was adequate because the hotel was half empty and few people had cars. The onsite restaurant is only open two nights per week. There is not much shopping or dining within easy walking distance. Traffic is pretty bad at rush hour.
