We just had enough time to explore the beautiful grounds and visit the gift shop. There is a huge tree called Los Barbados (the bearded ones) the island's namesake. The gift shop staff is knowledgeable about their rum. There were sipping, drinking, mixing, and cooking types. Did not know that. But we did not enter the house.

Very interesting house, it gives you a view on the way of living in the past. Pur guide was super gentle, gave us lot of interesting info regarding the history of Barbados. There is also a nice bar within the House where you can rest.

A beautiful house, dating from the 17th century. It is a plantation house, whose families owned over 400 acres of sigar cane and more than 200 slaves. Its an important historical reference point for Barbados.

Came as part of an excursion with P&O cruises. Had a very interesting tour of the house, a tasty lunch and explored the beautiful grounds. Would recommend coming here again.

Visited this 'great house' today. Judy was amazing as our guide. The experience does an excellent job of presenting the gilded lives of the white plantation owners. However, there is no mention of the horrific chattel slavery of Africans on whose forced sweat and blood the house was built. Please also be truthful to Barbados history.
