A Snorkeler's Paradise!! Tres Trapi was hands down the best snorkeling spot I visited in Aruba. The water was absolutely beautiful. It was crystal clear, calm, and filled with an incredible variety of fish. What impressed me the most was the visibility. Even looking out into the deeper water, 40–50 feet down, you could still clearly see the bottom. The clarity was unlike anything I've experienced before. I visited specifically hoping to see sea turtles. Unfortunately, I didn't spot any during my visit, but Tres Trapi is well known for some of the best sea turtle sightings and snorkeling on the island, so I'll definitely be trying again next time. Aside from Baby Beach, Tres Trapi was my favorite place to snorkel in Aruba. The combination of stunning water, abundant marine life, and incredible visibility made it a truly unforgettable experience. I can't wait to come back and hopefully catch a glimpse of those famous turtles on my next trip!

Tres Trapi Beach (and the handcarved, iconic steps that lend their name to this small shore entry access point) is quite stunning but has a very different vibe from the resort-flanked beaches that line most of the western coast. It looks more like the craggy limestone ‘beaches' of the rugged eastern coast, and if you slip on your way down to the water, you'll have the marks to show for it, but there's calm waters all around. You'll be able to explore the nooks and crannies of seagrass beds and coral patches in the unmistakably clear Caribbean waters. There's no shortage of areas to snorkel nearby, as Tres Trapi sits between Boca Catalina (easier, sandy entry to the north) and Malmok beaches (rocky, rough entry to the south). There are a few noteworthy shipwrecks just off the coast, as well, but you'll need to charter an excursion to reach them safely. Additionally, it's not really a beach you lay out at, and there are few spots to set up shop, so strap those flippers on and get in!

We made a trip to Aruba specifically to see Green Sea Turtles and this did not disappoint! We saw tons of turtles on multiple days and multiple times, as well as fish and an eagle ray that was there almost every time we went. The morning is the best to see the turtles feeding on sea grass and active (8am-10am), but we also went in the afternoon (1-2pm) and saw a few as well. You have to swim out to the sea grass to see them, so if you have small children or aren't a strong swimmer, having a floating device would be helpful! It was busy on weekends and week days but there's plenty of space once you're in the water. To enter, there is rock stairs leading down to the water, so its not very accessible which would be the only downside. But there are other areas, specifically a beach to the right, where you can enter (just a longer swim).

Hidden gem small beach, great for snorkeling. Water is a little rough and rocky but if you are looking to see a bunch of cool fish and aquatic species this is for you. Bring watershoes There are a few palapas and a few trees to sit under for shade. It's on the tourist route so gets busy.

Tres Trapi has always been one of my absolute favorite spots on the island. It’s the perfect place to relax, enjoy a peaceful sunset, or take a refreshing dip in the crystalclear waters. There’s something so special about this bay it truly has everything you’d want for a perfect beach day. One of the highlights is seeing sea turtles swimming nearby (please remember to admire them from a distance and never touch them). The water is incredibly clear honestly, it feels even better than pool water because of how pure and beautiful it is. It can get deep for those who love to explore, which makes it great for snorkeling. Just be mindful of boats in the area. If you plan to swim farther out, I highly recommend using a visible flotation device so boats can easily spot you. Overall, Tres Trapi is a stunning and peaceful place that deserves to be treated with care. Please respect nature, don’t litter, and always clean up after yourself so we can all continue enjoying this beautiful bay for years to come.
