Wet and Salty created an incredible opportunity during Barbados Sailing Week by opening the door for people looking to gain more sailing experience to join a regatta crew skippered by a Wet and Salty instructor. As someone still relatively new to sailing, this made the experience both accessible and confidence-building. Our skipper and instructor, James, was wonderful. He’s skilled, calm, supportive, and a great leader on the water. He created an environment where everyone could contribute, learn, and enjoy the racing. The team culture was fantastic and the overall experience struck the perfect balance between learning, teamwork, and pure fun. Being part of the Fadeaway crew for the coastal races and finishing the week on the winning cruising class team was truly special.

What a team Wet & Salty are!! Led by the captain Marianne, Skippers' "Wipers", James and Logan have everything covered from professionalism, humour, passion for sailing and safety. My husband and I enjoyed a week on board with the legend " Wipers" and enjoyed instruction, coastal races, Round Barbados race and the fun evenings post all races culminating in the red cap party, a night fuelled on mount gay rum punches and the meeting of crew from all boats sharing stories, singing and dancing on the beach. Just WOW! Thanks to all for making it a week we will never forget on "Less Stress" X

I had an incredible experience with my ASA 101, 103, & 104 9-day live aboard course. Marianna is very helpful, responsive and accommodating. I felt welcome from the time I met her. My instructor, Peter (Wipers), was the best sailing instructor I could have had. That is one salty sailor- you can clearly tell he has decades of experience. He treated me like family during my time there, and his patience was instrumental in my success. He kept a calm composure during drills which was extremely grounding, especially in times where I felt nervous. Barbados is a beautiful place with beautiful people. The seas and wind were perfect for learning to sail. My experience in the course has left a very strong impression, I was sad to go. I will definitely be coming back to Barbados for a day sail with Wet & Salty some time in the future.

I have just completed the 3 day ASA 101 sailing course with Wet and Salty Adventure Sailing School in Barbados….what an amazing week it has been! Communication, organisation and preparation with Mariana for the course was first class. Her enthusiasm and pure joy for sailing is infectious and you want to be out on the water before you step foot onboard! I had the greatest fortune in having one-to-one instruction with Caelum. There is nothing he does not know about sailing. His sheer love, passion, knowledge and patience combined with his meticulous attention to detail in the students ability to absorb both the theory and practical aspects of sailing, along with his structured delivery, makes him one of the very best instructors i have ever had the pleasure to learn from…and i speak from years and years of experience in the military. I very much missed being on the water sailing the very fast and responsive J24 under Caelums instruction the following days post course. I cannot emphasise enough how good the whole setup actually is and what you get out of it as the student. Do the prep work in reading the ASA ‘Sailing made Easy” handbook and you will already be off to a flying start enabling yourself to absorb and connect with the wind and sail when you are out there on the beautiful Barbados West coastline. Thank you Mariana, thank you Caelum for the most wonderful Sailing experience. If i could rate more than 5 stars i would! See you soon for the next level.

I booked Wet & Salty Adventure Sailing School in Barbados for their ASA 101/103 sailing courses in February 2025 and I cannot recommend it enough. I had never sailed before. Barbados is the perfect place to go for this as the seas are calm and its not overly hot in the winter. Marianna, the owner, is extremely responsive and helpful with everything from booking the classes, what should be brought, to where to stay on the island for easy access. Peter "Wippers" Hoard is the best sailing instructor anyone can ask for. He's patient and always made me feel safe. He clearly exhibits a lifetime of sailing and local knowledge. As a woman, I was looking for an instructor that could really be patient with me. He truly understood the ASA curriculum. I feel like I have the base knowledge to join the crew of any boat. I will be going back for my ASA 104 this year. You will want to keep coming back!
