This Monument was erected to celebrate Barbados's 50th Independence from Britain...it was slated as being the best location for this historical milestone as it's also the location of its inaugural celebrations in 1966.
Located at the Garrison Savanah in which horse racing, recreational, and other activities takes place, also the annual Gold Cup prestigious horse race...a must visit when in Barbados.
