We had a different expectation of the “monkey feeding,” so here is what it’s actually like. At a specific time, the staff brings out two buckets of mixed fruits and gently places the food into one or two spots on the ground. The monkeys then come from all directions to enjoy their meal. You are not allowed to touch or feed them — you simply observe as they eat, interact with each other, and sort out their little social dynamics. Overall, we enjoyed the small zoo area. We saw peacocks, guinea fowls, some very cool stone-colored Cuban iguanas, and many turtles freely walking around. There were also parrots, which were fun to see, and we even spotted two small caimans in the water area, along with a few aquatic turtles. One rabbit looked a bit unwell, but it was moving. Keep in mind that you don’t feed the monkeys yourself — you only watch from a distance. The trails with the turtles aren’t really worth the time; there isn’t much to see there. Tickets today were 20 USD for adults and 10 USD for children. We didn’t see any deer — only sheep and bulls as we walked around the property.

A highlight of our trip to Barbados. We were there for the 2pm monkey feeding and were not disappointed. There were so many green monkeys. They were both fascinating and entertaining to watch. Plenty of red footed tortoises wandering around along with guinea fowl and peacocks. Be sure to include in your plans.

So much to see here. There are multiple paths that allow you to explore without simply following the people in front of you. Green monkeys are everywhere and the feeding is a fun experience. The are so many different animals to see up close. There is a small informative museum inside and just so much to see. You will enjoy the shade of the thick canopy while you make your way in and among the natural beauty of the reserve.

Overall great experience!
Definitely plan your time here. I think this is a great stop if you are on this side of the island.
Feed Times : 10 AM - 2 PM
I highly recommend you bring close toed shoes with grip. Bricks can be slippery when wet.
Your ticket also includes the signal station that is on the same property. Definitely a good place to get some history.
This is open nature reserve. Watch out for the red tortoises .

What a sad experience. I hate to post a negative review and if it was just about the money feeling. I would have given it 5*.
Sadly the birds kept in small cages, the poor caiman in a tiny pond and snakes in small tanks ruined the experience for me.
As for their defending of tranquilising and sending green monkeys to zoos and vivisection laboratories left me speechless.
Come on, get with the times. Let people just come for the monkey feeding and to see the tortoises and do away with the rest, no one is really coming to see them!
