Absolutely loved my stay at Bposhtels San Juan! The idea of a hotel working with a hostel is brilliant. I was able to stay somewhere beautiful without spending too much and still enjoy great amenities. I had access to the pool, shared kitchen, and terrace, which made it feel super relaxed and social. I stayed in the 8-person dorm and it was surprisingly spacious. Each bed had its own curtain, reading light, and outlet, plus a large cubby and closet space for storage. The bunks were really comfortable and private. The bathrooms, showers, and sinks were separate, and there was even an extra bathroom outside the room, which made things so much easier. The location was amazing. There are plenty of things to do nearby, and the beach is only about a two-minute walk away. The roof deck was a great spot to chill, and having two kitchens plus fridges in both the rooms and common areas was super convenient. They also provide a towel and a lock, which was a nice touch. The terrace was perfect for me since I am a smoker and it was nice to have a spot to relax. The staff were awesome, really friendly and always ready to help. My flight was delayed, and after checkout they kindly stored my bags and let me hang out in the common areas until later. Overall, I had a great experience here. It is a perfect spot for backpackers and budget travelers who want comfort, privacy, and a good vibe. I would definitely stay again!

From the moment I checked in I had an excellent experience. Truly. Customer Relationship Manager at the desk was extremely nice and went out of her way to be so. My room are very clear comfortable bed, and plenty of toiletries. It was also very clean. It was an amazing value for what I got. It is also centrally located. You are in a prime location. The complimentary breakfast is perfect, and had everything I personally need. The young man at check out was also extremely nice. Thank you for such an enjoyable stay.

During our brief stay in San Juan, Puerto Rico, we chose Bposhtels San Juan’s Hotel due to its convenient beachfront location. While the overall experience was decent, we felt the breakfast options were somewhat limited—expanding the menu would greatly improve the guest experience. Today 05/02/2026 Now I'm Back With My Family. Thanks Again

I've stayed at hostels before. This one is NOT on par with others. Two MAJOR issues: 1. I booked a "Women's Only" room through Hostelfish for this hostel - guess what, that doesn't exist here! In my 3 days there, there were at least 3 men in the room. Turns out it is "Female Priority" on the website, no guarantee of that kind of privacy. 2. The door to the hostel room was BROKEN. Broken broken broken. It was easy for me to enter the lobby without identifying myself, and go up to the hostel rooms and enter with no one checking to see if I was a guest. For any survivors of assault out there, believe me this place is absolutely NOT for you. You'll never feel safe. Besides that, the amentities were sub-par. No microwave for hostel guests, it was advertised but this was false. No complimentary toiletries. The towel you are given is thin and horrible. The lights in the bunk beds are blinding and uncovered, multiple people were using clothes and things to mellow the glare. Breakfast was laughable, it makes continental breakfast look like a fancy buffet. They don't serve Puerto Rican coffee here. Whaaaat - this is Puerto Rico and the receptionist had no idea what I was talking about when I asked about the local cafe. The pool is nice at night, but not during the day when you can see how blah it is without the fancy lights. There are a lot of common areas available for use, so it was nice to be able to walk around and find different places to hang out. The cleaning staff was very nice, though they did not service the rooms every day. I do not recommend staying here. I talked to the hotel-side guests who had individual rooms, and they said it was nice. But the hostel part of this facility is like an afterthought nobody wanted to invest money into.

Cockroach in the hostel. I left immediately after finding a cockroach in my bed — completely unacceptable and disgusting. At the reception, I was promised a full refund if I decided not to stay. Yet, after my departure, I received an email stating I would only get a partial refund, with the excuse that they “could have changed my room.” This is outrageous. Nobody wants to be moved to another room in a place where cockroaches are already crawling in the beds. It clearly shows a serious lack of hygiene and respect for guests. This hostel is dishonest and unsanitary. Avoid it at all costs.
