My experience at Colleton Great House lived up to all my expectations. I can confidently confirm that the excellent reviews are entirely accurate. Hadrian, Sharon, and the entire team look after the guests, house, and gardens beautifully. I stayed for a week and had a truly wonderful experience, with thoughtful care and attention throughout. I’m very grateful for the kindness and support shown to me, especially as I made the brave decision to holiday alone. The atmosphere and décor of this historic building are quietly elegant and extremely comfortable. The sense of space and the soft breezes are uplifting and deeply relaxing. I especially enjoyed the social conversations at breakfast, which added warmth and connection to the stay. This has been a very memorable holiday, and I would highly recommend Colleton Great House.

My wife and I stayed 4 nights January 2026. From the moment we arrived to the day we left, the service from Hadrian, Sharon and the staff was second to none. The house, the grounds and the pool area are immaculately clean and tidy. We stayed in the Seaview room (a huge room with a four poster bed and a fabulous bathroom also with a seaview). Guests have use of a small kitchen with a fridge and a microwave, which was very handy. Breakfast on the terrace each morning was an added bonus as you were able to chat and socialise with fellow guests. The terrace was also perfect for sea views, sunsets and sundowners. The interior of the house is filled with antique furniture and artwork which creates a calm and peaceful environment. As an added bonus to our stay we had the pleasure of meeting the owners of Colleton House which made our stay extra special. Restaurants and bars are a short taxi ride away would recommend The Fish Pot at the bottom of the hill.

Set on a beautifully preserved historic property, it perfectly balances old-world charm with a relaxed, boutique vibe that never feels stuffy or overdone. The real magic, though, comes from the hosts. Hadrian and Sharon were exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever being intrusive. They have that effortless hospitality that makes you feel less like a guest and more like you’ve been invited into a very elegant home. Their knowledge of the property and the area added so much depth to the stay. Everything about Colleton Great House feels intentional: the peaceful atmosphere, the thoughtful details, and the sense of calm that settles in almost immediately. It’s refined but unpretentious, historic yet comfortable, and ideal if you’re looking to properly unwind somewhere with character and soul. A truly memorable stay—highly recommended for anyone who appreciates history, boutique accommodations, and hosts who genuinely care.

My husband and I visited Colleton Great House back in January as a potential wedding venue. When we got there we were absolutely blown away with the view and how quiet and relaxing Colleton Great House is. I must add that Sharon & Hadrian are two of the most amazing people I’ve ever meet! The staff, very friendly, the rooms CLEAN, the grounds CLEAN. I give it 20/20 Definitely recommend. I just want to Thank Sharon & Hadrian for making our wedding day beautiful ❤️ PS our son LOVEEEEEEEEED THE POOL

I've never been to a place with such a wonderful team of staff that feel like family. The house is spectacular, filled with such history. The grounds and views are really spectacular. The monkeys come to visit each day and the pool is fabulous with cocktails on the sun-bed. Overall the best week and highly recommend a visit.
