In 1985 I was working on a cruise ship (Pacific Princess) and we called at Mayreau. We went up to Denis Hideaway and enjoyed a great lunch. Now exactly 40 years later I find myself again on Mayreau and so went to find Denis. He is the same lovely person and we enjoyed a drink together. Unfortunately his property has been wrecked by hurricane Beryl. I can only wish him all the very best in getting up and running again. As he said when we were leaving, don't leave it another 40 years until your next visit.

Wonderful dinner. Denis opened for us even though it was off season and we were the only ones there. Kingfish and chicken were so good - one of the best meals

The best chicken with potatoes and sallad in Caribbean! Denis said that it will take time, but we are not in a hurry. What a delicious meal! He told about his family and himself a beatiful story. He has experiened terrible Beryl. He is going strong!

All packed, leaving in the morning with a heavy heart! Not too often, while traveling the world, you meet someone who immediately feels like family and makes you feel so comfortable.
Dennis has had quite a life! Hardship has given way to opportunity which in turn has allowed him to create something very special on this very quaint island. He has built this guest house from the ground up and we were privileged to enjoy our time with him. He made sure coffee was plentiful in the morning, served delicious meals, then was gracious enough to sit and enjoy the evening with us. Dennis it was a pleasure spending time with you and we wish only the best for you.
Of course we highly recommend Dennis's Hideaway !!
