The sand is soft and powdery, the water is crystal clear, and the waves are just right—perfect for both relaxing and a little fun in the water. The beach has a great vibe, whether you’re looking to chill under the sun, take a peaceful walk, or enjoy some light water sports. It’s clean, well-kept, and feels safe, which makes it ideal for both solo travelers and families. What really stands out is the balance—you get beautiful scenery without it feeling overcrowded. Plus, there are nearby spots for food, drinks, and music, so you can easily spend the entire day there without needing to leave. If you’re visiting Barbados, Dover Beach is a must-see. It’s everything you want in a Caribbean beach—relaxing, vibrant, and absolutely beautiful.

The sand and the surf of this beach are breath taking!! Highly recommend this beach for surf, sand and local places to eat and drink!!!

We spent an afternoon at this beach before heading for dinner nearby. The sea bottom feels like a luxurious carpet - no rocks or debris to worry about. Being on the south coast, the waves can be quite strong, which my kids (9 and 12) really enjoyed. Sun beds are available and you are near The Gap so plenty of drink and dinner options. You can park for free in the area behind the playing field and then it's a short walk down to the beach.

Beautiful clean, well kept beach. Sunbeds and umbrellas rented from Kenny each day for $30 barbados with no issues. The water is crystal clean and great for swimming in. If you head long the beach in the later afternoon there's a chance you'll see some turtles a few metres from shore. We swam with them within feet from us twice! We also saw a turtle nest hatching and the babies heading to the water before Barbados Turtle Protection came out. Lots of bars and cafes near by for food.
