A nice airport for your arrival and departure point to Barbados. Since it is in a warm climate checking is in an open air area with awnings above it. There is a lounge with basic service and you no bartender though you can make some mixed drinks yourself. Easy to navigate a food court is available.

I have travelled all over the world and never come across airport staff so rude. The woman at gate 16 was incredibly rude to the customer in front of us, who had asked a simple, polite question. Then they took us on a bus to our plane - but the plane was nowhere near ready. We stood on the bus for 15 minutes watching them slowly clearing all the rubbish and used pillows. Eventually they let us off the bus, but not onto the steps to the plane. The woman in charge started shouting at us all to get in a "two by two" line on the tarmac. Then she didn't like our two by two line for some reason and started shouting at the crowd again threatening to take us back to the terminal. It was bizarre to the point where we wondered if it was a reality show stunt. At one point she shouted "so this is how you all want to play it, is it?" whilst marching through our two by two line. We were on the tarmac for a good 20 minutes, during which time they offloaded another 2 bus loads to join our queue. Why take us out of the terminal when they clearly weren't ready for us?

The airport itself is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Everything is well signed so it’s easy to know where you need to go. There’s a piano in the food court so brace yourself for a lot of clonking if there are kids around lol. The gift shop (Ganzee) has really good options for t shirts, keyrings, stickers, shot glasses and they also sell stamps (cash only for these!) etc if you need souvenirs. What really lets this airport down are its food options. There is a burger place with a basic beef burger, plant based burger, chicken tenders and chips, a pizza place, a Subway, and a smaller shop for patties and I think roti that closes at 6:30 but they were packing down at 6 so with our flight being at 20:30, we were too late to eat from there.

For being a small airport, it was easy to maneuver through it. It is not crowded and there is no chaos nor long lines. There are many good souvenir shops. All staff are friendly and helpful. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that there is no air conditioning inside the terminal, and then you have to walk a long ways in the hot sun to the airplane to go up a somewhat steep ramp. By the time you get to your seat, you are uncomfortably hot and sweaty. Thank goodness for cold bottled water!

Surpringly large airport compared to other Caribbean countries. Getting through security both arriving and leaving was extremely quick. The walk to and from your plane to security might be longer than your time going through it. Plenty of shops to get gifts and a modest food court to have a bit to eat or drink while you wait for your plane. The staff is very friendly. I really have to take off point for the lack of charging stations and the less than private bathroom stalls which there are few. Very clean and semi new looking compared to other islands. Very easy to get to and from the airport from different parts of the island with plenty of places to stay near by if need be.
