Bought glasses in April, 2024. They broke a few days ago. Apparently, it's totally normal for a frame to just break from "wear and tear" after just 18 – 20 months of careful use. The company's manager could not have cared less. They don't care how long you've been a customer with them, nor do they care about doing the right thing. Avoid Harcourt. Just avoid them.

As a cruise ship tourist visiting Barbados for the day, I had quite foolishly lost my prescription glasses in the surf when swimming in less than ideal weather conditions. After consulting the staff of the Beach Club, I was lucky to be referred to Harcourt Carter Optical. The extremely knowledgeable, helpful and professional staff truly went above and beyond any expected service when they took my measurements, helped me choose a new frame and had the correct prismatic lenses fitted (plus suitable clip-on sunglasses), and helped us clear up a problem with our credit card, which originally would not let the payment go through. All this happened in the almost ridiculously short timeframe of about three hours - in Germany it would have taken at least a week. We managed to reach our cruise ship on time and I was able to properly see all the beauty of the Caribbean in the remaining 12 days of the trip. You literally gave my dream vacation back to me, and I will never forget your help and kindness. Oh, and to make matters perfect, my new glasses are both stylish and affordable. Best experience ever.
