Followed google maps to the location. Stopped at Army Base entrance and soldier let us through barrier to turn left onto track leading to the guns. Car with good ground clearance recommended. You can slowly drive right up next to the guns. Vegetation is a bit overgrown but you can walk round most of them.

This gun was a joint project with Canada to get into space. It was shot about 60 times & then shut down because it was shaking the homes off their foundations. The gun is still amazing engineering. Our local cab driver (Island Cabs) was able to figure out how to get us there & it was a beautiful hike.

Follow Google Maps and try not to short cut from the close by parking areas. It’s a bit of a walk but quite a view at the end.

Interesting cannons. 3 of them. One is the long supergun, then a artillery cannon, and a turret mounted armored cannon. The area is overgrown with long grass, with extremely basic roads/path. Access is front either side along the coast. On west side is military base but the accept visitors (except when I went they said there was ammunition delivery and I could not visit) or on east side there is a basic farmers path, for hiking or biking to guns. Both sides you are on the farmers path to get there, so consider this a remote area. Tall grass around the cannons but you can still walk up to them no issue, there is also a sign at the cannons that says live fire area when red flag is up. There was no flag, and I doubt they live fire near these old historic cannons. Worth it if you like cannons, you can enter the turret and sit in gunners seat

A really interesting piece of history; the Wikipedia page breaks it down very well. You do not need to ask the guard for permission to enter unless accessing from the Paragon Military Base via car. It is located on a coastal path that can be accessed by foot from Horizon Drive / Reef Close in Greenpoint. Note that it is a 2km walk along the coast from here.
