Harrison's Cave Eco-Adventure Park

Harrison's Cave is in the central uplands of Barbados. It is situated at 700 feet (210 m) above sea level. The three characteristics of the central uplands are gullies, sinkholes and caverns. It is also an entrance for another place of interest: Welchman Hall Gully which is closed.

The caves are naturally formed by water erosion through the limestone rock. The calcium-rich water that runs through the caves have formed the unusual stalactites and stalagmites formations.

Travel through the caves is by tram, at certain points during the tour visitors are allowed to alight from the tram and get close up to the formations. One main area of the caves is a huge cavern, termed "The Great Hall", measuring over 50 feet (15 m) in height. After the great Hall the tram stops at "The Village". At The Village, some of the formations have joined to form columns after thousands of years. Other areas the tram stops along the tour is "The Chapel," "The Rotunda," and "The Altar." Visitors travel through the Boyce Tunnel via tram to all depths of the cave.

Very cool experience, begins with a bit of free time in the waiting area to read information about the caves, followed by an 8 minute video with great details. They then bring you to the tram with sing use hair nets and a helmet to drive you through the cave. The tram portion takes about 40 minutes. Just a note the cave is wet and it drips down onto you occasionally so your clothes may get a little bit wet. They give you 2 opportunities to get off the tram and take photographs as well definitely worth the visit.

We visited here on a shore excursion from our cruise. The electric tram is an amazing way to get to visit the cave. We also had the opportunity to get off the tram twice to take photos. Really engaging and knowledgeable tour guide. Afterwards we did the nature trail which had some amazing plants and trees. Highly recommend !

Harrison’s Cave was an incredible adventure from start to finish. The entire experience felt well-organized, and the natural beauty of the cave is absolutely breathtaking. From the towering limestone formations to the flowing streams and hidden chambers, there’s something amazing to take in at every turn. What really made the visit stand out, though, were the tour guides. They were not only friendly and engaging but also extremely knowledgeable, sharing fascinating facts and history throughout the tour. You could tell they were passionate about the cave, which made the experience even more enjoyable and immersive. Overall, it’s a perfect mix of adventure and education—definitely a must-visit if you’re looking for something unique and memorable. Highly recommend!

This was my first time back to Harrison’s Cave since the renovations with all the Adventure Park features, and I absolutely loved it! I did the cave tour again—nothing had changed much from previous visits, but it was still beautiful and enjoyable. My absolute favorite part was the bird sanctuary. The guide in charge of feeding and directing the birds did an amazing job—he was confident, reassuring, and created a fun, safe environment where the birds could land on your arms and shoulders. I really appreciated him! The grounds are gorgeous, and while we didn’t get to do everything this time, we’ll definitely be back to try the zip-lining. We even saw monkeys running along the forest floor—it felt so authentically Barbados! Whether you’re visiting as a couple, a family, or a group, this is a wonderful experience. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is laid-back and relaxing, and the natural beauty is unmatched. I highly, highly recommend it!

This was an absolute must on our vacation! We had such a good time here. We did everything they had to offer besides the pool. The food was good, and everyone was so sweet. Zip lining was super fun! 10/10 would do it again!
