Harrison's Cave Eco-Adventure Park
Harrison's Cave is in the central uplands of Barbados. It is situated at 700 feet (210 m) above sea level. The three characteristics of the central uplands are gullies, sinkholes and caverns. It is also an entrance for another place of interest: Welchman Hall Gully which is closed.
The caves are naturally formed by water erosion through the limestone rock. The calcium-rich water that runs through the caves have formed the unusual stalactites and stalagmites formations.
Travel through the caves is by tram, at certain points during the tour visitors are allowed to alight from the tram and get close up to the formations. One main area of the caves is a huge cavern, termed "The Great Hall", measuring over 50 feet (15 m) in height. After the great Hall the tram stops at "The Village". At The Village, some of the formations have joined to form columns after thousands of years. Other areas the tram stops along the tour is "The Chapel," "The Rotunda," and "The Altar." Visitors travel through the Boyce Tunnel via tram to all depths of the cave.

Visiting Harrison’s Cave was truly one of the highlights of my trip to Barbados. The entire experience was well organised and enjoyable from start to finish. Our tour guide was exceptional—eloquent, knowledgeable and incredibly thorough. She explained the history and formation of the cave in a way that was informative without ever feeling overwhelming, and you could tell she genuinely knew and appreciated the site.
The tram ride through the cave was fascinating, and our driver also helped make the experience comfortable and enjoyable. The natural beauty inside is breathtaking—the stalactites, stalagmites, flowing formations and underground pools are incredible to see in person. Pictures really do not capture the scale and beauty of it.
I also loved that the experience extended beyond the cave itself. Walking the nature trail and seeing the monkeys and beautiful birds added another dimension to the visit and made it feel like a complete nature experience rather than simply a cave tour.
Beautiful, educational and very well presented. Harrison’s Cave is definitely worth visiting while in Barbados, and I would happily recommend it to anyone visiting the island.

Really great day out, particularly if you want to escape the heat for a few hours. Huge car park, parking was absolutely no issue. Decent price considering how much you get to see, all the staff were lovely, and the caves really are fantastic. Our tour guide had lots of information and was really fun. Can absolutely recommend. We would recommend getting there earlier in the morning though, before the big tour buses arrive, as apparently after that it gets much busier.

We visited in May 2026, and overall were pleased. It did feel a bit overpriced but I think its definitely worth doing once!! We did the package that included zip lining & cave visit. The pool was closed so we didnt get to use that. We were a group of 4 adults and 4 kids. We enjoyed both a lot and another highlight was the aviary, one of the pigeons landed on my son's and sister in laws heads which was funny!
Three of us had been to Harrisons Cave 29 years ago, and a lot has changed but the caves themselves remain beautiful and untouched.
Overall we would recommend taking a tour. The ziplining crew was fantastic and made it lots of fun with their jokes and banter.

We visited Harrisons cave and just did the cave tour. The tour was very informative and organized led by some great employees. It was amazing to learn how Barbados and the caves were formed and how they built the park around the caves. The caves were stunning as well. The beauty almost looked fake, but it isn't. We enjoyed the tour very much. A little added bonus, we visited the bird aviary afterwards. I wish I could remember the young man's name who worked there, but he did an excellent job teaching us and having us interact with the animals. Lots of other stuff here we didn't do as well. A nice day trip in Barbados!

Harrison's Cave has always been a great place to visit, see the cave, and get some history. But now, with the addition of some adventure park options, it's got even more to offer.
A large group of us visited for the 18th birthday of one of our group. We had a great time seeing the cave yet again, but then most of the group did the zip line as well and had an absolute blast!
There are more adventure options that we didn't do, such as a more extreme cave experience which looks very cool.
All in all, the site is still very well maintained and extremely beautiful; and ALL of the people we encountered working there were terrific. Polite, well informed, great sense of humor, and all-around amazing people. I will say, there are options to book ahead online, and I would highly recommend doing this. We just showed up and were lucky enough to get spaces available at just the right times, but someone others who came after us weren't so lucky; so book ahead for the best experience.
