Lounge for those travelling first class.
PROS:
- Dedicated and private customs / immigration just for you. You will be done in just minutes!!
- You will be picked up and driven to your plane when it’s time.
- A bit disappointed with the lounge, given it’s first class. The lounge is tiny and potentially not many seats. Food options are almost non existence (crisps, etc and maybe a standard sandwich) and also limited drinks.
- They board first class and other passengers at the same time via the front door. Which is quite diff as is customary where you might use the same door and first class passengers just turn left. This can be a bit chaotic as it means people are shuffling past you trying to get to their seats etc while you have to hurry to get yourself organised and sit down to give way to the queues that will form.

BA passengers travelling in 1st can use the IAM jet centre when leaving barbados. You clear passport control and immigration in minutes then you are taken upstairs to the BA lounge. When the plane is almost ready to take off, a private vehicle takes you from the IAM centre to the front steps of the aircraft. Amazing.
What many people do not realise, is you can pay to use the IAM service on arrival into barbados. A vehicle collects you from the steps of the aircraft, transfers you to the IAM jet centre, clear passport control and immigration in a minute , use their arrival lounge. Worth every dime.

Used the IAM Jet Centre as I was flying BA First Class from BGI to LGW and BA uses the IAM Jet Centre exclusively for FIRST passengers.
Great experience.
You actually clear security and immigration at the IAM centre.
When the aircraft is ready to depart, a shuttle bus picks you up from the IAM centre and actually drives you to the steps of the aircraft.

Food options are honestly terrible. Cold sandwiches that taste like they’ve been in the fridge for a month or other snack options are cheap savoury biscuits. Staff were kind and efficient.

We were looking forward to using the Jet centre last Saturday afternoon prior to our BA flight to London. We arrived in our hire car with our suitcases in the boot. We were met by three gentlemen at the door when we pulled up in the car. I am 74 years old and my wife is 72 and we both suffer with back problems. I explained this to the gentlemen and asked if someone could give me a hand to lift the cases out of the car. At this point they point blank refused and stated that this was not part of their service. They then proceeded to stand and watch me struggle to lift the cases out of the car for checking in and then told me to “just put the cases over there “. I complained bitterly to the reception staff and received no response. Please be aware that if anybody arrives with a hire car there is no porter available and you are expected to unload and handle your own suitcases. Disgraceful uncaring attitude from the the reception staff.
