Kareem was an amazing tour guide and was extremely helpful. He was patient with first time riders and made sure you were comfortable the whole ride.

The guides were exceptional. I rode Mission and he was such a good boy. I was disappointed that they didn’t take all the horses through the water - instead the horses are led by the guides 2 at a time through a path in the water and then back.
Also, after getting the horses in the water, the horses were tied up and we sat around for 20-30 minutes and then rode back. I got to love on my horse during this time, but it was downtime I wasn’t expecting.

Not very impressive. I never write bad reviews, but I believe people need to be forewarned about this.
You ride on a paved road for about 15 minutes with no good view, then ride on a dirt road where people have dumped lots of trash for about another 15 minutes. Finally you reach a small bay on the ocean side of the island which is covered in tons of yellow brown seaweed and about a thousand pounds of trash. I know they can't control the seaweed, but you would think the horsehide would be on the Caribbean Sea side with the nicer beaches.
No pristine beach and definitely not picture worthy. Sorry.

We booked this through the tour desk at our Sandals resort, Island Routes.
However, before booking I asked about weight limits as I’m quite a heavy guy and whilst I don’t actually ride, I do know from being involved in Horses in the past that I’d need a large horse for my weight.
I was advised my weight was within the allowance, so we booked.
On the day my wife got given a horse to ride which seemed okay, but I was given a horse which clearly was not comfortable with my weight. After 5-10 mins in the menage I was becoming increasingly concerned the horse may try to throw me off.
The guys running the show tried to reassure me it would be fine, however I know from experience (an ex’ of mine is a horse professional, I picked a lot up from her on size/weights etc) that this horse was not big enough for me, so I politely but firmly insisted I dismount.
Maybe in Saint Lucia it’s considered ok, but not in the UK.
My wife continued and I walked the route, which worked out fine as I was able to take pics.
She very much enjoyed it, the beach is lovely , very natural with a shack-style bar at the one end where the group stopped for an hour for refreshments and a chance to ride into the Ocean.
Be aware that if you are going to walk it, the route back is very steep at points so you’ll need to be okay on your feet. Prob 2-3 mile round trip.

My husband and I visited St. Lucia on our honeymoon and did this horseback riding as one of our excursions from our resort. This was my absolute favorite. We had so much fun. We stopped by a local Cafe and got a drink and some local crafts to take home with us while they got the horses ready for the water.
