Amazing experience for the whole family! Very interactive and informative. The hosts are super nice and knowledgeable and also their chocolate is DELICIOUS! you can tell it’s a high quality chocolate. Highly recommend this activity when in Santo Domingo:)

The KahKow Experience in the Zona Colonial is a nice enough stop if you are visiting with kids, as they get to learn a little bit about how chocolate is made. However, if you are a tourist which is clearly their target audience, the price is a bit high. If you are a local, I honestly don't think you would ever pay these prices; the chocolate is good, but certainly not "delicious." Our family did the Chocolate Factory experience, and while it was fun for the kids, it felt very lacking and missed so many details. You get to see a few pieces of cocoa bean, the skins, some ground pieces, and a little cacao butter, along with five machines just sitting there but you don't actually get to see any part of the production process. After the staff finishes explaining the machines, they just give you a small cup of about 50g of 55% melted chocolate to pour into a mold and add your toppings. You get to choose two out of five options (coconut, colored chips, raisins, cranberries, or salt), and after waiting 15 minutes or more, you get your own bar in a plain plastic bag. If you ask me if I would go again, definitely not. The price is outrageous for a bar of chocolate that lacks the "special" touch. If you want to make it a true experience, let the kids add their names to the bar, offer different percentages of chocolate to choose from, and actually let people see the process. Right now, it’s not really an "experience" it’s just a mediocre process of freezing a portion of melted chocolate and adding a few toppings. Let people taste different percentages to compare and decide for themselves what they like. I don't want to be harsh, but this is the only way you can truly make it an international experience worthy of real recognition.

Good experience and kid friendly. You get to do your own chocolate bar. Reservations needed. It's great to have a sample of what it's like when you go their farm, but here in the city.

It was an interesting and uncommon experience to do in Santo Domingo specifically in the colonial zone "Zona Colonial". I recommend making a reserve in advance so you can arrive with calm and enjoy your stay even more.
