Keepin' It Real is exactly the kind of place you dream of finding in the Caribbean. Nestled on beautiful Toucari Beach, just north of Portsmouth, this charming beach shack-style restaurant offers breathtaking ocean views and one of the most relaxing atmospheres on the island. Whether you choose to dine in the shade, near the open-air seating, or even with your toes in the sand, it's hard to imagine a more perfect setting. We were warmly welcomed by our wonderful server, Lisa, who made us feel right at home. The chef prepared the most delicious grilled lionfish I have ever tasted—so good that after spending a few days in Guadeloupe, we headed straight back here before doing anything else! Lisa immediately recognized us when we returned, greeted us like old friends, and even introduced us to her handsome son. Moments like these are what make traveling so special and remind you just how genuinely kind the people of Dominica are. Between the incredible food, spectacular views, gentle sound of the waves, and warm Caribbean hospitality, this quickly became one of our favorite restaurants on the island. If you're visiting Dominica, don't miss Keepin' It Real. Come hungry, take your time, and soak in one of the most beautiful dining spots you'll find anywhere in the Caribbean. We'll definitely be back the next time we visit Dominica. Thank you, Lisa, for your wonderful hospitality and for making us feel like returning friends. If you happen to read this review, I hope you'll enjoy watching my Dominica travel videos on Instagram in the coming weeks. 😊

Absolute dream spot with delicious food! Shrimps were great & their rum punch (peanut) is like a sweet milkshake! Just took a little while to get the food.

Great position right on the water. Had the lobster which was freshly bbq'd and and huge, with sides that were generous and tasty. Didnt have to wait very long.

Really good food. The atmosphere and beach area is much nicer than say the Purple Turtle. Paying in USD is a pretty steep exchange, better to come with EC, but they have signs saying they accept card also.

Th perfect beachy, divey island restaurant bar. The food was wonderful, we came back twice during our short stay on the island. Their house rum drink was lovely and there was a live band when we went on a Sunday night. We had the catch of the day and grilled chicken - both entrees were great and all the sides were yummy. The owner was very friendly and talked with us for a bit.
