Matthew's beachside restaurant

Matthew’s was an excellent choice for dinner, and even though the name had me at hello, the food followed suit. They have very interestingly crafted menu ingredients and pairings, with a wide variety of choices from each section on the menu (appetizer, salad, entree, etc.). The restaurant is pretty expansive, with indoor and outdoor dining options plus a gift shop, so if you have to walk off dinner or take a toddler for a timeout, you're in luck. Andy, the server, was very energetic and willing to help in any way; he was very attentive to the kids and had great personal recommendations from the menu, you can tell he's tried almost everything they offer. This was one of our final meals on the island, and it did not disappoint. Hot soup continued to be the tastiest paradox of the vacation; we tried several seafood soups, chowders and bisques on the island and they were all very good. Their Caribbean seafood soup was loaded with flavor and had those tender calamari rings I was looking for. One of the coolest things about being on vacation, particularly with your family, is when the reservation or activity really hits, or in this case, the food. There's a certain point when all eyes are waiting for those final bidding forks to come to rest and you get the go to finish the plate…this comes with soaking up any sauce and polishing off edible garnishes and slaws. Hopi dushi!

Amazing service and food! Luz was an incredible server—attentive, friendly, and clearly passionate about providing a great experience. She went above and beyond by even holding our baby while we ate so our food wouldn’t get cold. That level of care and kindness meant so much to us. On top of the outstanding service, the food was absolutely delicious. Try the coconut cream shrimp.. sooooo good! We’ll definitely be back!

We had an amazing time at Matthew’s! The food was fantastic. I ordered the grilled octopus and my partner had the piña colada shrimp bowl - they were both delicious. The restaurant has beautiful decoration, and it has an excellent location with beautiful beach views. We came on a Wednesday night, and they had lovely live music. Finally, the service was fantastic. Our server Nancy was so welcoming, and she made sure we had a fantastic time. I highly recommend Matthew’s!

Very slow service. It was Italian night and we ordered mussels in white wine sauce and it was dry. Worst mussels I ever had. Ambience is fantastic. Right on the beach with sunsets. Food is much better at other places. First disappointment in Aruba

Went for lunch, food was good and atmosphere is the best with great view. Service was slow and not very attentive.
