This highway has been renamed in honour of one of the Island's legendary calypsonians in soca music, for his year on year wins during the festival's "Tune of the Crop" title.
The highway was/is the climax location for bringing the curtains down on the festival, the closed off of this kilometers long road which brings thousands of people out to enjoy a marketplace of stalls...selling everything from toys, crafts, food & drinks etc.
During a day of scorching celebrations, some take to the beach for a dip in the ocean or set up a picnic spot under shaded trees in their vehicles...all on this much loved Highway.
