Unfortunately I had a very poor experience at Naru and cannot recommend it.
The food was good and the setting is beautiful, but that is where the positive remarks end.
I note the owners response. Despite 3 tables being free on the board walk (and remained free for the length of my stay), I was given a table at the back. My table was not those photographed but rather two rows back from the boardwalk. As mentioned, these were vacant for the duration of my visit.
Andre was my waiter. He did not speak loudly and was extremely difficult to hear. While waiting to order my food, he was taking videos on his phone at the board walk. This was extremely disappointing that social media was more important to him than service.
The final thing to ruin my visit was when my bill was put down in front of me without asking for it. This really was the ‘nail in the coffin’ - I am still flabbergasted by this and found it extremely rude and is the primary reason I cannot recommend this restaurant. I note the owner has no response to this.
Won’t be back.

Great service from everyone!! We went a couple of times and everyone was very kind and helpful. We loved the drinks and the appetizers. The sushi, though, could be improved.

My dinner experience was just ok, had to wait for over an hour for the orders. It was my birthday and the little desert with the starlight flopped as the starlight did not sparkle. It was not a memorable experience for the right reasons. We had the naru tempura as a nibble and pork as the main which tasted just ok but not very thrilling. Our waiter was nice.

It was a hidden experience for me. Imagine driving past this restaurant, maybe for years. Figure it not for me.
But I was pleasantly surprised last Friday, and I dined with my wife there. The food, drinks, and dessert menu are expansive, and they delivered on service and taste. That's why we are heading back there this weekend with all the grown kids and their associates, which is leaning toward my go-to place for dining and having that real Japanese experience. I'm tempted to compare against the other, but I wouldn't. Let's just say I enjoyed Narus' experience.
