I've had a terrible experience with this hostel! I was travelling from Europe and contacted them via booking that I was gonna arrive around 1am, which prompted an automatic reply about a late check in fee that led me to assume the reception would be staffed later than usual check in time. During my layover at JFK I received a message my payment wouldn't go through and I needed to fill out a form I never received before. Upon arrival, the only person in the lobby was a girl who helped me check-in but constantly insisted that she shouldn't work. Was clearly high, struggled to remember a name for longer than 3 seconds and simply did not have the mental capacity for this task. But since I informed them of my late arrival, someone should have worked there. We tried two credit cards as I have been repeatedly told the payment wouldn't go through. In the end, both cards were charged. I asked another receptionist the next day and was told one card would be refunded. By the time I wanted to check out I still didn't receive a refund on either card and when asking for a manager or at least someone in charge I was given an email address. My emails and messages were ignored! To this day I did not get a receipt and they lack basic communication skills. In the end, the customer service from Booking helped me. The location of the hostel is good, the rooms were okay, the showers need some serious maintenance. But none of the good parts would get me to come back to this place run by the most unprofessional people I have ever met.

TLDR: spotty WiFi, awful management, dirty kitchen, water pressure in some bathrooms lacking - look for somewhere else. I honestly don't know how this place gets good reviews. I was arriving late at night and, in order to avoid the $25 fee they advertised for late check in, I messaged them almost *a day* in advance to ask for codes to get in (they said they provided these automatically the day of anyway). Heard nothing. On my layover, I emailed them directly and also called several times - their phone system hung up on me several times. Finally got a person (at their other location) who said they'd take care of it. Landed in San Juan and turned on my phone. Nothing. Called them and used the automated system to indicate I was a guest with an emergency. Phone rang and rang....and no answer. So they don't even actually answer the emergency number after hours. Didn't want to show up at 11:15 at night with no way to get in, so I booked another hotel nearby which was obviously more expensive given last minute nature of reservation. Walked over the next morning and explained everything to the woman at the front desk. She reviewed my call logs and such and agreed there had been an error on their part. Get to my room and....wifi does not work in my room. The woman at the desk sort of just said "...it should." She said she reached out to managers for me....2 days later, still hadn't heard anything. She said the managers would be there Saturday, the day I checked out...and they ghosted me and didn't show up. I had to email multiple times just to get them to respond...and they only offered me a 70% discount for one night...because they sent instructions on how to get in at *nearly 11PM the day I landed* - AFTER I had called them with no answer and AFTER I booked my other hotel. The only good things are the location and the rooftop view - but totally not worth it.

Booked a last minute stay after missing my flight home, and wished I had spent my whole trip here. Clean rooms, friendly staff and guests, wonderful pool with great overall vibes. Also, lattes.

Horrible customer service... Do not stay here. I checked out on the 9th of May and I am still trying to get them to release my deposit. I have called text and emailed several times. They responded to my email but yet have released my funds. I only store my luggage there did not even stay since it was just 4 hours since i had a delay. Please do not stay they will over charge and not respond. The bank can not release until they fax verification over which I have sent them several times. Poor customer services. The only positive was the location. Staff seemed unaware of theirs policies. I will post a review every day until they release my funds. Its been 28 days and they refuse to fax verification to bank and keep telling me they have released my money...... DO NOT RENTR HERE!!!!!

We had a very poor experience with Nomada Urban Beach Hostel and would not recommend booking here. Before arrival, we confirmed basic logistics like parking and an early checkout, and the host initially responded saying parking was available. However, on the day of our stay, we were told that there was no reservation for us at the location we had booked. After we reached out, the host said they were trying to move us to a different location. This did not work for our plans, and we asked them to notify Airbnb so we could be rebooked. Unfortunately, they stopped responding entirely at that point, leaving us without accommodation and no clear resolution. We had to spend significant time on the phone with Airbnb to get the booking canceled and find an alternative place at the last minute. Overall, the experience was stressful and poorly handled. The lack of communication and failure to honor the reservation made this a very unreliable stay. I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere.
