Staying at Sonia’s place was an absolute highlight of our trip to Antigua.🌴
The property is tucked away in a quiet area, beautifully surrounded by lush tropical plants that keep the air naturally cool and create a wonderful sense of privacy. It truly feels like your own little jungle hideaway. And then there’s the pink!! 🩷 The entire place, inside and out, is decorated in pink, which gives it such a unique and memorable character. Iconic!
Sonia herself is an absolute superstar host. She gave us a personal neighborhood tour on day one, showed us the best beaches (spoiler: there are 3-4 gorgeous ones nearby), tipped us off to an amazing local spot for food, rented us a car – automatic, thank god 😄 – and even talked us through using a gas stove like a pro.
She offers a weekly linen and towel change if you’d like, and is always warm, attentive, and genuinely happy to help whenever you need her.
Perfect for couples, beach lovers, or anyone who just really appreciates the color pink. 10/10, would absolutely come back! 🌺🌴

This was our 2nd stay with Sonja, the first being 9 years ago. Her tropical garden is very beautiful and we loved the friendly birds and sweet little dogs. We stayed for 1 month and loved the Skyshack which is high up in the tropical garden with a beautiful view to the distant hills. The Skyshack is really lovely and well equipped. It has windows all round, with fitted mosquito nets, which gives a light and airy feeling. It has a balcony where one can sit outside and feed the friendly birds. Sonja took us and other pinkshackers for a marvellous evening out to an excellent restaurant in St John's and then on to a nightclub which was great fun. We hired one of Sonja's jeeps which enabled us to further enjoy this beautiful island, although I would say that some of the best beaches are not far away. We met a number of very interesting people who were also staying at Sonja's. We particularly liked staying in Five Islands Village; the Antigua people are so genuine and friendly and there is a lovely little bar/restaurant just down the road called the Green Apple. For our return Sonja drove us to the airport and on the way took us to see where chocolate is made which was very interesting and the chocolate was delicious. We found Sonja to be a very warm and caring host.

I can not thank enough Sunny Sonya for her exceptional helpfullness and kindness! Her beautiful place Pinkshack Village is made with a lot of love, vision and personality. Natural, cosy, great people and cute doggies. We loved to stay there and we hope from tbe bottom of our hearts to be able to go back some day. Sunny is a warm beautiful soul, hardworking exceptional woman. Thank you Sunny, we hope to see you again in Pinkshack! 100% recomended!!!!!!!

I had the most wonderful stay at the pink shed. It was just lovely and I was so looked after. The night I stayed we all went out together for dinner that our host organised which was very special. It felt very homely and as a solo female travel it was very safe. The accommodation was very clean and cosy. The dogs are a lovely addition and make feel even more homely. I would highly recommend to anyone travelling to Antigua it was the perfect start to my stay.

Oh my days what a fantastic experience. This was an emergency check-in as some other accommodation I’ve booked at the other end of the island was the disgrace. Sonia came to my rescue within an hour when I say what a beautiful place to stay. I’m not underestimating it was amazing the support there it’s a beautiful you can rent cars from her. She’s full of ideas. She’s not in your face. She’ll have conversations with you. If you want you can ask her for anything at any time. She’s there to help you. Oh, it was like meeting family when I met Sonia and the other guests there we all look out for each other, we do not encroach on each other spaces it’s it’s amazing what I saw honestly it’s like something out of the Amazon jungle when you walk to that gate you would not expect to see such a heavenly place. I am going back there in fact, I’m going back there with a group of friends and we’re gonna do some yoga. You will not be upset. Book this honestly book it you will be shocked. It is amazing thank you, thank you, thank you, Sonia.blessings and love x
