This was an amazing experience and ride, hitting all the right areas, muddy waters and shops. Everyone was great and it was extra awesome as it was a smaller group.

At first, I was a bit skeptical about purchasing excursions off the ship; however, I took a chance on POP Excursions. When we left the cruise terminal, I felt relaxed as they were extremely organized. The excursion office was a few miles from the port and had a personal driver to escort us throughout the day to the waterfalls and buggy tour. He was amazing as he treated us like kings and queens giving us a tour of DR in a luxury minivan. In fact, he stopped us off for a taste of the DR, providing the best banana, dragon fruit, and mango I had ever tasted in my life. The waterfalls were breathtaking! Even though I thought the hike would kill me, but I made it! Trust me, it's not a regular hike, but the guides do stop and help you along the way. After sliding through the most beautiful scenery, we went on the buggy excursion. Unfortunately, or fortunately for us, the buggy excursion from the morning was not finished when we arrived, and we were offered the ATVs. Also, we had our own personal photographer (additional charge) at the waterfalls. It was worth it! This was AMAZING SERVICE! We had a blast and would do it again!

I’ve been on a few ATV tours and this one wasn’t the best. The staff and guides were nice, but the tour itself was pretty bad. We didn’t go off road. We only rode the ATVs on the main roads and the only place they took us was to a shop to buy local products. That was fine, but that was the end of the tour. They took us back on the main roads to the beach and told us we only had 5 minutes. That was it, that was the tour. For $100 we expected a lot more. Also, the photographer was not that great, although he was very nice. The pictures were not worth the amount being charged. The excursion has greater potential but for now, I would recommend another company in Puerto Plata.
