Wanted a local experience and ended up at the Punda Bus Terminal. A local helped us get on to the right bus to head to our destination.

This is the bus terminal where airport buses also depart and arrive. It's best to refer to the bus company's official website for route maps. Fares vary depending on the route; for reference, the fare from the airport to the bus terminal was 2 Caribbean Guilders, and from the bus terminal to the airport was 1.5 Caribbean Guilders. The number of buses is limited, and the times on the timetable are only approximate. On the route buses, you pull a cord hanging from the ceiling to signal your stop. Free Wi-Fi is available on board, although the buses travel at a slow speed.

There is a timetable, but it's only for very rough guidance. The bus will come eventually, you just have to wait. 😉

Buses from this location run on time. This is in contrast to other boarding points. There are metal gates at the front and back of the bus. You have to go through a small gate. I find this very dangerous; for example, how do you get out of the bus easily in the event of an accident? Boarding is difficult, and especially when getting off, you have to be very careful otherwise you will fall.
