We rented a few bodyboards for our kids aged between 13 and 11. We went to Crane Beach and also to our hotel beach. The waves were perfect for the kids and they enjoyed a full day on the waves. Thank you very much for your kind service and advice.

Absolutely awesome place! My wife and I were on the island for the first time for our anniversary and we figured why not try surfing for the first time. 1000% the right choice to go with Ride the Tide. They really took the time to explain safety and expectations, through demonstrations pre water and were patient and constructive in the water to help us get surfing! The water was mossy, but the waves were perfect for practice and by the end we were exhausted but all smiles and both standing upright by the end! We would absolutely recommend trying it out or renting when you’re there! When we come back, we’ll be certain to stop back again!

Thanks to Jay and D'Angelo for the AMAZING ladies group session!
I actually booked a 9:30 lesson, but that time the sea was too rough and hardly manageable for me as a beginner. Jay proposed to reschedule to 15:30 and the conditions were perfect for my skill level.
After a short instruction at the beach we spent almost 2 hours in the water. The group was 5 surfers + 2 coaches, so after paddling I could catch the next wave without long waiting in the lineup. The coaches cared about our safety and kept the motivation and fun level high thoughout the entire session.
Fun fact: it was a surfing into the sunset session, which got me awesome pics.
Overall great experience, I enjoyed it a lot and will definitely come back! 🏄♀️

Had an amazing experience with Ride the Tide Surf School! Even though we were unlucky with the weather and our lesson had to be relocated, the team handled everything so smoothly. They communicated the changes with us immediately, made sure we had all the updated meeting details, and even checked in multiple times to ensure we knew exactly where to go.
I had my first-ever surf lesson with D’Angelo, (3 new surfers to 1 instructor) and he was an incredible instructor—super knowledgeable, patient, and really personable. Thanks to his great teaching, I was able to stand up multiple times and "Ride the Tide" during my very first lesson! The whole experience was fun, easygoing, and well-organized.
The team was super easy to communicate with, and booking through their website was a breeze. If you’re in Barbados and thinking about trying surfing, I highly recommend these guys! 🏄♂️🌊☀️

Had an amazing experience with Ride The Tide. The set of waves coming in for the lessons were amazing and I never scored as many waves in my entire life as I did during these two hours. Actually had sore legs from surfing, only felt shoulder burn previously. Also very good experience when hiring a board. Could just walk in an get the same board as I had for the lesson for two hours. Which got waxed properly before my session which is not always the case in my experience at other places. Didn't score as many waves during the hire as during the lesson so I would recommend a lesson if it's your first time at Freights Bay just because they know where to position you in the line up which helps a lot. Still surfed some waves by myself but not nearly as many. Reasonable prices as well.
