I can't say enough good things, I absolutely loved this hotel. The location was great, right on the beach and in an area with a few nice restaurants and shops. The Tortuga, which was right on the property, had amazing food and drinks. The pool was always nice and clean. The staff was helpful and friendly (especially a front-desk associate named Antoinee). We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite, and it was huge with a full kitchen an all amenities included. My only small gripe is they could update some of the furniture in the rooms and the pool loungers and it would be a 10/10. 100% Recommend.

I will start with giving them credit for having a GREAT staff. Awesome ppl. You can't beat the location. It's central to everything..... BUT the hotel needs a face-lift. The room feels like you just walked into a one bedroom apartment in 1990. The AC unit in my bedroom sounds like a fly is trapped inside flying around in it when it cranks up. You hear random noises from the drains. The grout in between the tiles in the shower is dirty. The toilet seat in my bathroom was dingy and scratched up. It doesn't cost that much to replace. Smh. You can't get a beach towel until 9:30am so unless you held onto a towel from the day before it's a wrap on getting out to the beach early in the morning. If you're not a room snob you can totally stay here because of the convenience and super nice staff. If you're looking for a modern luxurious stay, this isn't it. If they remodel this place it would be great

Timeshare exchangers beware: this hotel will book you into a hotel room even after you ask for a better room such as ocean view or studio suite, and then without telling you they booked you for a hotel room (which according to them has no windows), they will try to have you “upgrade” when checking in for a lot of money. Borderline scammy behavior. This hotel has a decent location, but the hotel itself is falling apart. The rooms are old, outdated and very humid, your bathing suits will NOT dry inside after days, smell of mold everyday despite the dehumidifier. Your towels are given to you in a plastic basket on the floor. The hot tub is slimy and missing many tiles. Housekeeping is inconsistent and does not clean up all the water and sand from the floor. Hotel does not provide any water in the room. In addition, even though the location is “good” and “convenient”, it is also not the most pleasant to swim in the ocean and breath in all the airplane exhaust from the nearby airport. Finally, they have some strict policies regarding beach towels - you have to pay $30 per unreturned towel, but the towel hut always shuts early - it says closing at 5PM but on multiple days it was already closed around 4:20PM. Numerous staff members were rude or dismissive when we asked for help. Will not stay here again.

Absolutely love it! 💕 We stayed at Royal Islander Club La Plage in August 2025 and Royal Islander Club La Terrasse in late May 2026. The overall ambiance, rooms and staff are amazing, especially Ms. Nina and her staff, who goes above and beyond for her clients and their family. La Plage is a beautiful resort with family friendly activities, pool and easy acces to Maho Bay beach. The Tortuga Restaurant on the resort offers a serene ambiance with a clear view of incoming airplanes and the ocean. I love that Maho village offers the convenience and safety of shopping with a variety of restaurants, Maho supermarket and a night life with We Lounge bar and a casino, all a few steps from the resort. A truly wonderful experience for the whole family. 100% recommend!!!💫

Resort/Club is great from location point of view. Maho beach, restaurants and market all within 2-3 min walk. Pool and beach areas are well maintained and clean. Actual building is showing age now, needs to be upgraded. Rooms are well sized. Few negative points, It was difficult to communicate with someone in advance. After few tries, I sent an email and requested our rooms to be allocated together (next to each other as we had kids in our group) about 1 month in advance. I received an email after one week that they will try but not guaranteed. On the day of check-in, I was hoping they would have put both rooms together. But NO… one room on second floor left wing and other was on third floor right wing. And I was told the resort is full and they cannot do anything. So be aware if you have multiple rooms in same reservation.
