The list is long so bear with; I am writing this as a mother of three and someone who saved and saved for this holiday, I do not want anyone else falling foul and giving your hard earned money to holiday here.
Told on arrival do not use pool, there is a chemical issue (that didn't get sorted during our stay). Other pool in use, however advertised slide not there, well there but removed from poolside. Approx two inches of rusty metal screw...where I presume slide was supposed to be secured was just left jutting from patio around edge of pool.
Didn't get house booked, got next door (apparently due to no hot water in 7 Sandown, even though there were guests there during our stay at number 8). Hot water clearly a theme as we had non for the first 48 hours, once the on site host, Charwin is doing his best, I believe he is not reporting back to owners and not to AirBnB host who took it upon herself to blame me for all the issues. Hot water then stuck on scolding...not ideal with children. On site host called four times regarding water. Eventually got luke warm in one shower so stuck with that! This shower then repeatedly backed up and didn't drain...pretty gross. Cleaner...only comes if you leave the door UNLOCKED, sorry but that's just odd and I wouldn't leave my door locked in England so odd that I should think that's ok abroad. The recent 'refurb' advertised is no more than some new furniture and miss matched canvas prints on walls. A major refurb is required including new sanitary, new hob and oven, electrical sort out, air con sort out, as so old and noisy, new doors, these had to locked from the inside as keys no longer work and they're locked with added on sliding locks. Kitchen had five knifes and four forks in kitchen that was generally greasy and grubby. Air con, so loud I cannot even begin to liken it to anything! Ear plugs purchased. Air con the broke in teenagers room...aircon guy promised and not forthcoming. Bed broke on three separate occasions (trust me not from anything exciting, this place made you feel depressed not sexy) Electric sockets unsafe. No sweeping brush, cleaning equipment, towels, hairdryer, bins, not enough utensils for a family of five, no flow tv (flow guy promised, again not forthcoming)...I honestly could go on...
I wasn't aware of air bnb policy to bring up with host within a certain time frame, I wasn't going to just magically be able to find new accommodation and 'hope' I got my money back so yeh I sucked it up. I certainly brought everything up to the on site host, several times during our stay who admitted there needs to be some serious money spent, he's chasing his tail plugging holes in a seriously sinking ship. Lauren is pretty arrogant, partial refund requested but refused.
Thankfully we had booked to move to Porters for our last week where the hosts understand their responsibilities! We will be back but will be very careful next time, this place looks great in the pics.....looks are extremely deceiving.
N.B following response, air B and B tried several times to get you to partially refund which you refused. Their exact quote 'you are not alone' with regard to our thoughts of Sandown. You have been reported as an unsafe and mis-advertised property and as such are under review!

Absolutely the worst place i have ever stayed in my life. We were sent a video of villas (we rented2 ) but it was nothing like we were led believe Both villas had only aircon in two rooms. Villa 1 (the best villa) we had a toilet that leaked, a bath that leaked( had a handheld shower head which we knelt in to shower, in the batn) but quite dirty (hadnt been cleaned in a while) had asked the giy who ran it ( Charwin, we called him charming Charwin) if they had towels, was told yes plenty there. We had 1 small towel in each shower room, when asked about it he brought towels from home. It is extremely run down, the slide from the pool was in our garden. Not enough cutlery or crockery
Both pools green and dirty we never used them
Villa 2 ( which was changed in a week, we complained every day ) no aircon at all, 3 small towels, not enough cutlery ot crockery ,oven had no lnobs and no working showers. Charming Charwin convinced us to move to another villa as he had messed up the bookings????? But listening to him, he made us feel sorry for him, so we moved.Had the same again, but had 1 shower that worked, aircon 2 rooms, no knobs on oven again, fridgefreezer didnt work ,we used the freezer compartment as a fridge.Ended up 11 of us using 1 villa that was ment for 6, 3 of our party left and stayed else where wish we all had. It is well worn ,tiles lifting, flooring lifting, there is nothing i can think of to praise it, and im a very positive person

The place has an upscale look with a price to match. But dont be fooled. Its not all glamorous. I hope not all the condominiums are the same. Mine was a 3 bedroom condominium, each with their own bathroom. 2 bedrooms were downstairs and 1 upstairs. It had wooden stairway leading up to the second floor where there is wooden flooring and the kitchen and living area. Every step from the bottom of the stairs to the entire second floor echoed through the building (some say this is expected with wooden floors but if that is the case why put it on the second floor to make noise above people's bedrooms). Only 1 bedroom had an actual closet (which is odd since even hotels have closets). The upstairs bathroom was the only one not attached to the bedroom (assumingly to give access to guests in the living room which can cause a problem) The bathroom itself was tight. The shower didnt work for the first month until the head was finally replaced. The tub creaked every time you moved in it. The faucet handle was falling off. Only the AC units worked for the most part. may have just needed better maintenance. The bedrooms downstairs had no windows (except for the small bathroom window) only doors to the outside. The driveway is slanted towards the entrance so that you pull straight into your condo but be careful not to pull straight into the building, its not built well but the pavement beyond the driveway is too narrow for you to be able to pull the car straight out and so that you can go back through the entrance. Have to drive down to a wider area in order to turn around or reverse all the way out to the main road which is a highway. And talk about irony. The front door has security so that of someone has their key in the key hole on the inside you cannot unlock the door from the outside (i assume this to be anti-lock-picking technology) but if your bedroom is upstairs forget security. You can only lock it from the inside so you cant expect things to be secured when you leave. The downstairs bedrooms have a similar problem but they are both equipped with doors to the outside that lock so you can lock your room door from the inside and just exit through the outside door and lock behind you. (I dare not mention the unfinished pool that was full enough long enough to have tadpoles growing. So the place is definitely comfortable but i wouldnt advise staying long term

A small condo development situated close to the west end of Barbados, with the beach a short walk away. Excellent place for families, since there is plenty of room, a small kitchen and enjoyable balcony. Close to necessities. Clean, well-maintained and simple. Neighbors are very sweet and helpful.
