A lake in Guadeloupe—I wanted to see that with my own eyes! Allow an hour for the walk around the lake, which includes a viewpoint halfway along the route and a river to cross (you can manage it without getting your feet wet!). If you don't want to walk the entire route, you can still enjoy the viewpoint at the start of the walk.

Wow, a hike that wasn't planned! We had only come to see the pond, but being the adventurous type, we set off to conquer the larger pond. And no regrets! It was long, with the feeling that it would never end, but we enjoyed the scenery, crossed a river, took the opportunity to cool off, and found a small birdwatching hut. Quite technical in places, but doable. In the end, it was a superb experience. Done with my children, ages 14 and 4.

A lovely 1-hour walk around the lake. Be aware that it's very wet and you have to cross the river, so wear good shoes! The path is well-maintained in places. It's a fairly peaceful spot. You can see many birds.

I was quite disappointed by this walk, which I thought would be along the edge of the pond, but in fact, it's in the forest and there are very few opportunities to see the pond. The river crossing is poorly marked; we almost got lost.

Advertised as "easy" but in reality it's difficult! Just rocks and roots, ups and downs, and a river... over an hour and a half for 1 km. A real slog. As a result, you don't get to enjoy the scenery or the forest; you just keep watching your feet and where to hold on to avoid falling...
