Oh my gosh! So happy I found Shanti’s! Best people watching. Best feel for local life. So much better than the food at the Hilton where I’m staying. Best Roti, potatoes and curry chicken I’ve ever had!!! Thank you Shanti for being so gentle with my soul. I needed that. Will never forget that experience ❤️😘.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I just had the most authentic experience at [ shanti Rum & Roti Restaurant ]! 🌟 Customer service was top-notch, the staff were friendly and attentive 💕. And the food? A straight 10 out of 10! 😋 The flavors were on point, presentation was lovely... it was a treat! 🤩 Overall, it was a WUNDERFUL experience. I got to encourage others to check it out, try the food, and taste the rum punch 😮‍💨 it’s a 10 out of 10! 🍹 My favorite dish was [ curry goat ]!!!!! Worth the visit !!!!!!!!!!!!!

​My family and I stopped here while walking through Bridgetown. It was one of our favorite meals while in Barbados. We had the curry beef it was so tender and flavorful, and you can tell it’s truly authentic. Pairing it with the warm, roti was perfection. ​It’s a great little spot with a friendly atmosphere. If you want delicious food and a chill bar vibe, definitely check them out!

Shanti's is an upstairs bar in Bridgetown near the shops. It's very much a local place and not high end, but it's perfect if you want local vibes. Monique behind the bar was lovely and so friendly, but she was overrun, trying to serve behind the bar and prepare food in the kitchen. We had drinks and one of us had the lamb roti which I'm told was good but not perfect. I had some interesting conversations with local people. Beware, this bar is not smart, tidy or modern. But it was a great experience. An older couple from a cruise ship definitely did not seem impressed, with the bar or with Bridgetown. That's why reviews help! Give it a try for a drink, just for the vibe.

One of the best meals I've ever tasted! Don't pass up this unassuming bar type location or you will miss out! We are from the Southeastern US and we know how to fry chicken and fish but what we tasted at Shanti's blew us away. After working up an appetite walking several blocks to sightsee/ window shop in the area, we wanted something to eat with a nice adult beverage. The rum punch at Shanti's was delicious and potent. We chose to sit in the covered open area overlooking the street, which provided interesting people watching views during our mid/late afternoon Friday visit. The owner/chef was very gracious and when we noticed locals frequenting the business, we had a hunch it would be good. My daughter and I had the flying fish with chips (fries) and her bestie had the chicken. Perfectly but lightly seasoned so the flavors of the food come through and fried to absolute perfection with a breading/coating that had optimal crunch while the flesh was tender. It's hard to explain but the food just tastes different here in Barbados... it's like what food is supposed to actually taste like. Not fancy, overly spiced or covered in a ton of sauces...just a very tasty fresh and flavorful meal. A few tips to remember: this is NOT pre-made restaurant chain food; your meal is made fresh to order. Be patient and enjoy a drink, the views and good music and remember you are on island time. Parking is tight in the area; google walkable parking locations before going and wear comfy shoes and you'll be fine (or use a pickUP taxi). Shanti's is located up a staircase in a second floor of a modest shopping strip area; if you happen to miss it, the staff working in the shops down below will point you in the right direction. I try to shop and eat local whenever possible and our visit to Shanti's Rum and Roti was one of the best choices we made!
