I sent Alex a message on WhatsApp asking if he had availability and he booked me for the next morning’s intro to spearfishing and freediving tour from Haywood beach, about 45 minutes north of Bridgetown. I’m an experienced recreational diver but have never tried freediving or spearfishing before. It was definitely intimidating but Alex was very calm, patient and thorough in explaining everything. Once I was in the water, I was able to get two fish and even make a try to touch the shipwreck. Hunting invasive lionfish with a spear gun in tropical waters is about the coolest James Bond adventure you can do short of applying for the SAS. I even got to take the fish fillets back to my hotel for the best meal of my whole trip. They go great with a vodka martini, shaken not stirred. The entire experience is about two hours in the water with fins and no life jacket, so you’ll need to be a strong swimmer. I’d love to come back the next time I’m in Barbados.

This was an amazing experience! Alex is extremely knowledgeable at his craft to say the least! I’ve been watching spear fishing/freediving for 5+ years now on YouTube and really wanted to learn. I didn’t know what to expect when I signed up for Alex’s freediving course but glad I did! His class was extremely informative which should put your mind at ease if you have any concerns with safety or his ability as an instructor before getting in the water with him. He’s extremely professional but fun at the same time, I can’t stop telling friends and family how amazing he was and how fun the diving and spear fishing was, I highly suggest anyone to take his courses, I don’t know when I’ll be back to Barbados but I will definitely hook back up with Alex! I can’t thank him enough 🤙🏻

I cannot recommend Alex enough. From start to finish, he ran a phenomenal operation and made the entire experience unforgettable. His coaching was spot-on, patient, clear, and confidence-building, and he made sure every detail was perfect before we even hit the water. What really stood out was how much fun he made the entire adventure. It wasn’t just a trip; it was an introduction to a whole new world. Thanks to him, I didn’t just enjoy spearfishing, I walked away completely obsessed with it.
If you’re considering a spearfishing trip, do yourself a favor and book with Alex. You’ll get an incredible guide, an amazing experience, and possibly a brand-new passion.

I had an amazing time spear fishing with Alex! I had no previous experience free diving but Alex walked me throug everything I needed know and we ended up with quite a few fish. The fish ended up as ceviche later that day. Experienced, knowledgeable, professional and fun!

I highly recommend going spearfishing with Alex. He is a professional in the world of spearfishing and freediving. My brother and I really enjoyed our spearfishing trip. Alex is very detailed when explaining the art of freediving/spearfishing and how to use all the equipment safely. We got a few fish and Alex filet the fish for us . If you are ever planning a trip to the Barbados and want to try spearfishing for the first time , Alex is the perfect guy and you will have a excellent time in the water.
