It’s quite a task to get here. There are no signs. You just have to look on Google Satellite and your GPS location which dirttrack to take. Your seatbelt keeps you from smacking your head into the trucks roof. Note that some other reviewers (Anson for example) are talking here about the Willemstoren at the south of Bonaire.. That’s a different lighthouse. But they are identically built. Only this one has a guards house built next to it. Navigation tip: Once you’re done at the Waterput, drive about 600m back and take the first dirttrack right. Then you follow a much smoother dirttrack than if you would follow then one right on the coast. The one on the coast is really intensive driving, max 30kph and got to be constantly careful. The road 600m more inland you can go like 40kph just straight and a lot less surprises. Still be careful nearby the lighthouse though there are a lot of hard to see ditches where you can easily bottom out your truck on. That would be a quite rough crash and could lead to an emergency call to get out the area. And only go with a truck or quad like vehicle. Not with golf carts or scooters.. The renter won’t appreciate it and if you loose a tire of a scooter you’re in serious trouble in such remote location. There is no one there in hours of walking range and the sun is very hot. If you get into a heat stroke without escape it will be a very unfortunate situation.

The area is really nice. The lighthouse itself is nothing that special. You can't go up to the top or in it at all which would be nice but still a cool thing to see if you happen to be in the area. Just be cautious of the roads in this area as they are only one car width wide so you have to be very aware of other drivers coming the opposite way

One of my favorite places in Bonaire. This very off-the-beaten-path location is stunningly peaceful; with nothing around but the sea breeze and beautiful views. The old lighthouse keeper’s house is fascinating to explore, just watch you step! There are loose boards and large holes on the second floor that would certainly lead to a bad day should you make the mistake of forgetting about the obstacles as you take in the amazing view.

Very cool dive site, if you dare! House and light house are nice to visit too! Could use a beach cleanup.

Made a stop here during an ATV excursion. Found out the light house still works and is used to help stop trafficking.
