Returned to the Nutmeg after a 23 year absence. It is still the same, offering delicious local dishes, with superb views over St George's Harbour from it Carenage location. Great bakes salt fish souse, Cocoa Tea. Love it!

I go here mainly for nostalgic reasons as it evokes warm memories of my childhood. I recall the anticipation of getting a pack of corn curls as a treat each time I came here as a child. The smell, the atmosphere, the sounds of the cash registers pleasantly take me back to then, when life was mellow. Well stocked shelves, good customer service, and a very congested parking lot. Nonetheless, it is a happy, bustling place to shop, browse, drop in quickly for something you need, forgot, or cant find elsewhere: or just to grab a pack of corn curls and some happy childhood memories to go.

The Food Fair is in a convenient location, on a main road that is on the bus route.
Selection is varied, huge selection of liquor, also of sundries and cleaning supplies. Dairy is good, produce is OK. Canned food is less than you would think for a store this size, but they have three essentials. Frozen food occupies a whole wall, and some freezer cases.
Remember to check any backpacks when entering.

This is the place to shop for persons on a rigid budget. Check out or ask about promotional products or discounts. I
The plus is the shuttle that takes you to the bus terminus with your bags. Sometimes the fresh produce may not be of A grade but it's best to buy and cook within a day or two. There's always the option of frozen.
It's small and can be overcrowed in some isles.
You can find almost everything you need for the kitchen from appliances, cleaning supplies and food items.
If you're planning to have here as your supermarket of preference then register for a "Shoppers Card" to get shopping certificates of accumulated points when swiped at each sale over $10.
Great place to shop.
