Management and staff are one of the biggest reasons the Meridian is one of the best places to stay on 7-mile. You can't beat the location. It's quiet, safe, close to everything and the beach is the closest asset there :)) Sea Turtles, Stingrays and other sea life is just yards/meters offshore. Best value for your money on the island bar none. If you stay there, you will be hooked just like us.

We stayed at The Meridian Grand Cayman for ten days over Christmas and had a great stay overall. The staff was wonderful, the condo was clean and well maintained, housekeeping was solid, and the property itself is very nice. This is a condo building with owner rentals, not a traditional hotel, and it shows in a good way in terms of space and comfort.
One major thing future guests should understand before arriving is the beach lounger situation, particularly on the beach rather than the pool. There are signs stating that loungers cannot be held without being used for more than an hour, but there is no real enforcement of this rule. After several frustrating days, I asked management directly and was told there is no rule against people placing items on loungers for long periods, despite the signage.
As a result, many loungers sit unused for much of the day while towels and personal items occupy them from early morning onward. This is a classic tragedy of the commons. Everyone acting in their own interest leads to a worse outcome for the group. No one wants to do it, but once some people do, everyone else is forced to follow or accept suboptimal results.
Important detail. Do not use the striped towels provided for the beach and pool to hold loungers. Staff will pick those up in the morning. Personal items will remain. The regulars know this. Now you do too.
The only practical solution if you want decent lounger locations for your family is to play the game. That means putting your personal items out in the middle of the night or before dawn and blocking every lounger you intend to use. Large shirts draped over the backs of the loungers work well. If you leave one unmarked, someone will take it. If you are going to play a stupid game for your family, you might as well play to win. Do not feel too guilty about it. It is what it is.
On a more positive note, there is a decent reef immediately in front of the property on the left side of the beach. Swim out to the roughly 200 yard buoy and it is right there. It is not as good as Cemetery Beach, but the proximity and ease make it fantastic, especially with kids.
The jet cars are also really fun to watch from the beach, though they run about $500 to $800 an hour. We found much higher utility renting jet skis instead, which were about $120 for half an hour and easy to arrange.
Overall, a very good stay with excellent staff and accommodations. Just go in informed about the beach lounger reality and your trip will be far less frustrating.

We love staying at the Meridian!! They have one of the best beaches in Cayman - its huge so even when its busy it still feels very private. The pool and BBQ facilities are top notch! We have stayed in a few Villas, our favorite are 11 and 1. We have been staying there for years and all staff are wonderful! They have recently changed managers and while we love Lee (she is amazing!) the new manager, Kenesha, hasn't skipped a beat! We had a large group of family stay in 6 different villas after our wedding and each one was immaculate! Highly recommend!

We've been coming to Grand Cayman every year for the past 15 years, but this was our first time at the Meridian. It's located in central 7 mile with plenty of sandy beach to enjoy and easy access to restaurants, Camana Bay, and Georgetown. We stayed in the newly renovated 3BD Penthouse unit #26. For a 3 BD, it was HUGE, as it's essentially the same square footage as 2 units. All the furnishings were updated and the screened balcony made for a great place to eat and relax. Everything was clean and the staff came every day to service the unit. Easy underground parking as well. If you're looking for a condo unit to rent - move this one up your list.

We have been visiting the Cayman Islands since 1998, and staying at The Meridian since 2007. The Meridian's units and beach/pool areas are well maintained and very well equipped for a family stay. The furnishings are updated regularly and from the locally created bath soaps to the modern updated appliances, all of the amenities present are well above industry standard. The staff here are the best. Lee and her management team (Pat and Nora) do an amazing job making us feel at home and ensuring our stay is comfortable and enjoyable. We are already planning for our next trip back to The Meridian. This is a top-notch and well managed property that I highly recommend.
