Tasty food for both sashimi and entries. Ribs were really good and figs of the day was sea bass. All ended with vanilla icecream. Great service and location, but music to loud to have a conversation and barely hearing the servers.

It took about one month to get a reservation here . They prioritize their guests before local tourists . I do understand that. Upon arrival we were seated at a nice table viewing the ocean and the below level bar and property .The service from beginning to end was outstanding . There was great attention to detail which I apreciate. We ordered cocktails which were both delicious . I had a sake sour which I really enjoyed . We were greeted with a complimentary portion of their spring rolls as a bonus . We ordered the seaweed salad (very tasty and portion was perfect ) and the caterpillar roll to start . We then ordered the catch of the day served with rice and vegetables and i opted to add a shrimp pad thai side which was a mistake . The fish was prepared in teriyaki sauce which made it extremely salty , hard around the edges and drowning in the sauce as flavor . My suggestion is to prepare the fish in a light garlic and spice then serve in on an orange umami asian sauce as its bed . The rice and vegetables were fine . The pad thai was not to my liking . The sauce had a taste that was not what I've experienced before . It was heavy . If i return I would stick to the sushi choices. I would also suggest some lobster sushi creations . So we've been here twice. Once while we were staying at Sugar bay (the hotel where it's located ) and another time for my birthday. It's consistent. West Indian food culture is deep and unforgiving. It's not seeking to attract instagrammers and influencers. The food is good. One can argue there are better offerings on the stretch (but the stretch also includes restaurants competing for global honors). Umi just does itself. The food is good, well presented and staff leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy. Maybe that's all that matters.

Excellent the staff could not do better. I am vegan and they went out of their way to accommodate my food preferences., with delicious results ! Best meals I had the whole holiday ! Thank you 😊

I had an amazing time. The waitresses were friendly. The atmosphere was cozy. The sushi was good and there were good portions as well. Definitely a repeat location!
