This restaurant is a little local hidden gem, with amazing food and nice staff. We really enjoyed the lamb stew and fried red snapper. It seems there’s different availability based upon the day you go, so that’s something to keep in mind. There was a little wait on time (normal from what we’ve been told), but the food is well worth the wait.

Velma's Bar Restaurant is one of the best Bajan cuisines on the island. True Bajan food at its best and served with the warm smile from Velma herself. You'll also see a wide range of wildlife, especially the monkeys 🐒

Good freshly prepared food. Very Friendly. Relaxed fun atmosphere. Love it. Recommended. Vilma and her staff are so friendly and take care to serve tasty food. A gem of a place in the Barbados country side.

Such a shame because the food was so delicious! Velma was lovely and gave us a great meal. The man behind the bar overcharged us and said it was tourists tax. I’m not a tourist I live here. Very rude man.

If you want to enjoy some great REAL local food, this is the spot, quiet little "getaway from the hustle and bustle" hideaway, Ms Velma cooks up a story of deliciousness, and the drinks (talk to the barman) are an added bonus to a delightful meal.
