A wonderful place to explore the natural virgin landscape of Bonaire. The road is unpaved and has varying degrees of grading. We drove a two-wheel drive compact SUV without any real issues, although one or twice we questioned our decision. We were not alone in the choice and very happy we made the trek, but a vehicle with higher clearance would be better. The landscape is alien. Cactus forests, rugged mountains, fossilized cliffs, dried coral beds, blow holes, and angry shores brings all of Bonaire into harmony. Seeing and feeling the mixture of surf, turquoise waters and the deep blue sea is worth every rut in the road to get there. Add an abandoned lighthouse, exotic birds, salt beds and swimming/snorkeling area (no diving), and this 3-4 hour excursion is complete. Bring plenty of water, be prepared to pay US $40 per person (unless you already paid the diving tax elsewhere on the island). Enjoy the adventure!

Not my favorite spot on the island simply because the roads you have to drive on left my back hurting for days. But, we did find some great spots to connect with nature. Plus, the snorkeling in Wayaka was my favorite. Even though it was the weekend, the park wasn't crowded at all.

Stunning landscape, left raw and uncommodified. Definitely bring snacks, lots of water and a rugged vehicle. No food available there.

This place is amazing! Take the long loop and enjoy all the stunning sites along the way. Take a swim or snorkel, but unfortunately closed for diving now. We had to leave our tanks at the ranger station.

Washington Slagbaai National Park is absolutely stunning and a must-visit while in Bonaire. We saw some of the biggest parrot fish we’ve ever encountered while snorkeling here—truly unforgettable! The park offers so much to explore, from breathtaking coastal views to secluded beaches and scenic drives. You can easily spend the entire day here soaking in the beauty, swimming, snorkeling, or just relaxing in nature. The entry wait was minimal, and the roads inside the park were manageable with a truck. Be sure to bring water, snacks, and your snorkel gear—this place is a gem!
