We did a 2-hour private lesson with Zed, and I can’t recommend him enough. If you’re looking for an instructor who is both fun and authentic, he’s your guy. He gave us the perfect boost of confidence and just the right amount of technical tips before we even hit the water.
Once in the surf, he was amazing at analyzing our movement and providing instant, actionable feedback without it feeling overwhelming. On top of his own incredible surfing abilities, Zed is just a genuinely great guy to hang out with. 10/10 experience!

Such a great time staying at Zed’s. I came as a solo female wanting to learn how to surf to check off my bucket list and had an absolute blast! Super welcoming, fun, and perfect for beginners. The spot is quiet and laid-back in a rural area, with a handy little store nearby for snacks (fruit, chips, soda). I’d 100% recommend this to anyone looking to catch their first waves or wanting a quiet spot to chill and read a book.

This place is a gem RIGHT by the ocean, you can see the surf spot from your bed. There is a little cafe as well, run by lovely Lisa who will make you some really nice breakfast or lunch. Claudia is an amazing host, she helped us out with everything from finding a doctor to providing literally anything we could possibly need and telling us everything about the most beautiful spots on the island. Her friendly attitude and smiles all day will make you feel more than welcome. She also organized a snorkeling trip with Zed on his boat which was a great experience as well. I can only recommend this place, it really does feel like paradise

I discovered Zed's just over 10 years ago and immediately knew I found a very special place. Since then, I've traveled back on many occasions bringing friends and family with me. The location is sublime, the surf is incredible and I can't say enough about the Layson family, the staff at Zed's and Barbados as a whole. It always feels like home. My latest trip had to be postponed due to the Corona crisis but I look forward to returning once travel restrictions lift.

I have spent several weeks at Zed’s in the past couple of years. I love the place! The surfing has always been good. The instruction, led by an incomparable gentleman named Junior, is off-the-charts excellent. I was a beginner (60+ Age) on my first visit to Zed’s and their instructors got me going quickly — I enjoyed every single day in the water with them. The apartments at Zed’s are charming and super comfortable. And the location is so beautiful; it is about 30 yards from your door to the ocean. Best of all, the owners are incredibly nice people and they work so hard to make sure the guests are comfortable and having a lovely time. This is a jewel. I feel so fortunate to have discovered it. I can’t wait to go back and I hope to bring my entire family on a visit before long.
