This was a first time visit to Zen, based on strong recommendations from fellow vacationers within Crane Resort. We booked on line for a 5.30pm table for two. Inevitably as the first to dine, it was empty and a little soulless but the view was breathtaking- we were excited.
An extensive menu, we were really happy to have beautifully prepared fresh food that was delicious - both courses. However we had a wait time of 50 minutes for the first course, which was disappointing. The front of house team were very good and I sense the chef brigade were actually struggling with the large number of take away orders - we reluctantly felt as being the bottom of the queue. The more we saw the brown bag carry outs, the more frustrated we became.
The service scoring is low because of the wait, but please be clear the food was delicious. Will there a next time - no for dining-in but yes for a carry-out!
Update 19 January. We dined again but this time we were served in very good time and this has allowed me to upgrade 2 stars to 4 stars for service - thank you. The food was still very tasty. The atmosphere remains a little stale but that may be because it is supposed to be reflective and quiet!

Great restaurant. The service was slow, but the environment was extremely intimate and the food was delicious. Thai cuisine and Japanese cuisine in the same restaurant! Does it get any better? We really enjoyed dinner here. We would highly recommend it to anyone vacationing who likes Japanese and Thai food. They have a beautiful view of the ocean, but we got there and it was already dark. It gets darker here than it does in Texas.

Some of the best Thai and Japanese food we have ever had. We stayed at the Crane resort where the restaurant is located and we ate here 4/7 nights. It is a gem. The private booths were so comfortable, the staff were both extremely welcoming and skilled, and both the Thai and Japanese dishes were perfectly cooked and delicious.make reservations.

One of the greatest places to eat on earth!
